Picture of Anne Novis, UKDPC Trustee Director and Company SecretaryAnne Novis
Role: UKDPC Trustee Director and Company Secretary

I represent an organisation called Educating for Equality and was elected onto the National Council several years ago now. I am committed to ensuring that UKDPC is a vibrant voice for disabled people and our own DPOs.

I lead in campaigning and advising public bodies on disability hate crime, domestic violence and abuse. My recent work involved co-producing the report ‘Getting Away with Murder, disabled people’s experiences of hate crime in the UK’. This report challenged government and justice services about the lack of justice experienced by disabled people.

I represent UKDPC on the following groups:

  • Race for Justice, a national advisory group on hate crime to the Home Office.

  • London Resilience Disability Advisory Group, advising on emergency planning.

  • MPA Hate Crime Forum, ensuring best practice on hate crimes at national levels.
